Local Reference Number LRN

The Local Reference Number (LRN) is a unique identifier for a declarant on a consignment. Each transit declaration needs a separate LRN, which cannot be duplicated.

Every shipment requires a unique LRN; however, if all shipments are included in a single transit declaration, only one LRN is needed.

The NCTS generates LRN and transfers it to the haulier, which will then take it to the UK office of Departure for validation of the information.
