Advance Valuation Rulings (AVR)

Advance Valuation Rulings (AVR) are written decisions made by customs officials at a trader’s request that are legally binding on both parties. They are optional and serve as a trade facilitation. Customers will get assurance from them regarding how to determine the customs value of their items. The amount of duty that may be owed depends on the customs value. In turn, AVRs will help clients finish their customs declarations.
