A Registered Exporter (REX) number is a distinctive identification number that is issued to exporters in the European Union who satisfy specific criteria. It confirms that they are eligible to claim preferential treatment when exporting goods to specific countries, including those under the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP).
How does it work?
Proof of Origin: Exporters who possess a REX number may verify that their products are eligible for preferential treatment by including a declaration on the invoice.
Value Threshold: For shipments worth less than €6,000, any exporter can make a statement of origin. However, for higher-value shipments, they must add a REX number to the statement of origin.
Exporters can streamline customs management using a REX number.
