SIVEP

SIVEP, which stands for Service d’Inspection Vétérinaire Et Phytosanitaire, or Veterinary and Phytosanitary Border Inspection Office, is a French department in charge of performing sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) border controls on goods of animal or plant origin at the first point of entry into the EU.

These regulations cover a wide range of products, including food, agricultural and forest goods, and live animals. If SIVEP rejects the products, the vehicle transporting them may be returned to the UK, and the commodities may be destroyed if they endanger public health.
